Long forest circuit

Terrain: lane, forest track and grass

Time (with picnic): about 5 hours

Total climb: about 240m (800 feet)

We follow a steadily climbing lane out of the village, with lovely views of the Ceidiog valley and the mountains beyond. The lane becomes a track leading up through forest, past a small waterfall, and out onto open pasture and heather moorland. A bridle path leads us across moorland, through more pasture and back into forest, with fine views of the Upper Dee valley. The forest track leads steadily downhill, out through farmland and along a pretty, little used lane back to the village.
